1/18/03 3-Wide Alright - It's confession time here in the Vault.  Back in the 70's, I never rooted for Ken Brenn because I was jealous of  what great equipment he had, and the fact that he had one of the greatest (Stan the Man) tutor him. I was always rooting for the guys that were working with less and trying their damndest to come out with more (like Al Michalchuk, Manny Zilli, etc).

Well, here it is some 30 years later and the truth is that yea, Ken Brenn always had great equipment, but Ken Brenn also turned into a consistent, well respected, clean competitor who not only ran well in Sportsman and   Modifieds on dirt, he successfully transferred his talents to the asphalt surface as well.  Without an old program handy, I would take a shot and guess that Ken has to rank as one of the top 5 all time feature winners at the square.

In a sport whose fans take pride in rooting for underdogs, Ken Brenn deserves the respect of all for while he had good equipment throughout his career, Ken Brenn Jr. delivered.

1/19/03 Todd L Ken Brenn was always fast I remember him in Stashluk's 71 after Jim and Scottie Kania parted ways ,the 44jr at EWS (open comp shows). He later drove the 1a for Benny Scheer on dirt and asphalt .
06/11/03 Steve Fegley What can be said bout that picture? That’s one bad lookin modified, Ken Brenn’s cars always set the standard for the rest to follow. I remember when Stan in his 27 an Brenn in 24 be out there side by side in the Flemington dust. It used be so hard to tell which was which out there till they got to the starter’s stand - then you could tell – (Stan would be sideways for one there already!)
07/04/03 Kevin B This car had one of the all time coolest sounding engines, I'm not sure if it was because of the Jesel valve train system or what. It just seemed to purr and float effortlessly through the square!
04/09/06 Rarjar Joe,........I believe this car is the only dirt modified made by sprint car fabricator Gary Stanton.
