Comments: While I think Gary first drove a pink #9 coupe briefly when he arrived from Florida, this is the car that I remember him making a name for himself prior to taking the controls of the #73, which I've learned from you guys that this car became the #73!

06.16.09 Larry D. That is at Middletown, NY.
06.17.09 Bob Hummer Sr. This is the number 9 that was owned by Richard Ege (last name spelling ??) and I believe this was in 1973. The car was sold and became the number 73.  Gary stayed on as the Driver. -
06.18.09 Barry Miller That picture is from the '73 season. Gary won everywhere he went with that car in '73, except for Reading. He also had Syracuse won that year but he got disqualified because when he came in for his mandatory pitstop some of the crew members just banged on the deck lid and he took off again but they never put any fuel in the car. That was a dominant car in '73 and I think that was the last year for the pink 9's, I do not remember seeing them after that year.
