Comments: Photo provided by Bob Pickell Jr. of his the Lou Inzeo's great looking #80 Sedan.  Looks like it might have been the first day out of the shop as it doesn't have a mark on it.

While I don't remember the car being a big winner, it was one that anyone who went to the races locally here (Flemington, Nazareth) will surely remember.  Would love to see somebody do a vintage car like this one!

04.28.09 Bob Becker Didn't Stan Ploski win a race at 5 Mile Point or some where up north in this car?
04.29.09 Uncloose1 Beautiful ride, are there any color shots of it here. Even in black and white this car stands out.
05.04.09 Mike Stevens The cut out on the A post was so Bob could see coming off of the corners at Fonda. The car ran very well in upstate NY. Bob Pickell Sr. is someone who I think could drive anything.
05.06.09 Mike (Bucky) Stevens (continued from above post)

If you look at the pictures of that car as it evolved you can watch the hole change location and size. The hole was first cut so Bobby could see. Then it became oval over the door. Howie Cronce thought it made a great hand hold to get in and out of the car. Which is what he thought it was for.
Inzio told him the story. They owned a body shop. The picture speed racer provided is the first year of the car. Bobby was the sole driver at the time.  If you look at, I think you can sort of see the torch cut from Fonda.

When Howie began driving it you will see they hole got relocated and lined with a Rubber tube, so he didn't cut his hand.
05.12.09 Scott Pacich I need to clear some things up about this car. The hole was cut for visibility, but it had nothing to do with Fonda. This car ran Fonda only once, for a race that paid 1492 Silver Dollars and Stan Ploski was the driver. He had a guaranteed spot and went up there with Lou.  Lou never really ran upstate New York, although Pickell did have a great run at 5 Mile Point in a 100 lap race. The car was most successful at Orange County and Nazareth.

Secondly, Howie Cronce only drove the car once, maybe twice.

This picture is of the second version of the coach. The first one was built on a stock chassis, which was replaced with this 2x4 version.

I talked at length with Lou just today (5/11/2009) and got this information directly from him.
05.12.09 3Wide Thanks for the info Scott.  If you speak to Lou again, please let him know that here it is 30+ years later and we're still talking about this car like if we just watched it run last Saturday!
