I remember Larry driving a dark brown sedan during the 70's at
Flemington. He was injured in a crash at Flemington. (I don't
know why, but I wasn't there that night.) I remember
reading about it and was reminded again the other day when watching a video
from the 80's at Flemington and Larry was driving a beautiful orange #x11.
Bill Singer can be heard in the video announcing that was Larry's first time
back since his accident. |

01.31.09 | Fred Hahn | Larry was in a horrible crash on the front stretch at
Flemington. Larry was passing a car on the extreme low side and got pitched
off. Larry slide into the pit entrance opening just after the flagger's
stand. The impact with the corner of the fence crushed the sidebars into the cockpit. I witnessed the crash, and viewed his car afterwards, something I will never forget! Larry was unconscious for a few weeks. My father was involved in the accident, one of the few times I ever witnessed my father cry. We would drive to the hospital before going to the track for a few weeks. Larry was told he wouldn't/shouldn't race again, but Larry had another car built and did race again, but he was never he same again behind the wheel. Larry was a great guy, and a true racer. His car was bright orange, as the paint was the same paint that father’s frame was painted with. |

02.12.10 | Ken Stull | The fellow who wrote the comment right before me was none other than Pete Boyer , another one of the low budget racers who was out there week after week because he loves racing . In my opinion one guy who with the top notch equipment would have been a superstar . GO PETE...68 ! |
