Comments: | Didn't know who was behind the wheel of this cool looking Falcon, but upon closer inspection we think it is Bob Turlip who many will remember usually could be found behind the wheel of his self owned orange #8 Gremlin. |

12/17/08 | Bob Turlip | Yes that's me in the A-1 They need to do some lawn work at the track |
12/17/08 | 3-Wide | If only there were grass and weeds still there Bob, I'd be
happy to do some lawn work... It's kinda hard to tell in this photo,
but did you have a #8 on the side of your helmet? Also, how did this
car run and how many times did you get to drive it? Thanks for checking in! |
12/19/08 | Bob Turlip | Yes 8 is on my helmet. Car ran 3 times, only I drove it,
then caught on fire. ( injector return line came off ) Dave Vaughn (99) Bob Soliday built the car ( I helped some for training) It had 4 wheel independent suspension with inboard levered springs look at the R/F wheel you can see the spring sitting behind it, the rear springs were under the seat, never worked well . I flipped my #8 down the front stretch and totaled it end of the season. Over the winter I got the bare frame from the A-1 and cut away the A frame independent suspension. It was my last #8. (Just went past Flemington last week first time in a year. The 4th turn Rt. 31 gate is the mall entrance! It's like your dog dying.) |
