great photo from Steve - (Check out the quarter panel - Snoopy says it best
"Fences Are Hell"). I don't know if it was the quality of the cars, or the drivers... or the idea that the best driver's would move up to Modified eventually, but to me, this was a great time for the sportsman division. While the modifieds were always the headliner, for most in attendance, the sportsman feature was every bit as exciting and compelling. We'll always remember guys like Ray Liss, Joe Hall, Les Katona, Pete Madsen and others from around 74 & 75.... and George Ault was a big part of the show. |
