Comments: Looks like it say's "Owner _ _ _  Miller" on the hood, but we're pretty sure that this was a former Ken Brenn Sr. owned coupe that was driven by Lee McBride and painted in the Tony K colors.  According to Tony K, this car had a "scout" frame and after much success in other cars, they were never able to really get this car to handle the way they wanted.  Also according to Tony, this car ended up getting destroyed at East Windsor and was scraped after that.

06/05/08 Mike Stevens Maybe if they put a 17" Big Jalonie on the left rear and ran it sideways with reverse stagger, it would have run the same as it did when Stan drove it. Looks like its been on it roof.
06/05/08 Steve Cameron This is the exact same car pictured on page 67a. Only a little worse for the wear.  https://3widespicturevault.com/70spics&vitals/e05.10.08_024_BRE_EWS_0070_1.htm
06/05/08 3Wide Hood and front suspension sure look like it...

Check out this link below... John Mc seems to think that this car may have survived (in spite of what was mentioned above that it was scraped) and actually resurfaced with a Pinto Body on it.  If you look a the hood and the front suspension... and even the side rub rails, it does look like the same car with a different body.

It's definitely not this one: https://3widespicturevault.com/70spics&vitals/d02.22.07_024_PLO_FLM_0070_1.htm  and if you go to the link with the Pinto on it, and scroll down, you'll see what we think became of this particular #24.

06/07/08 Jeff McBride I don't remember much about this car , but the owner of the car was CURVE MILLER. He was a friend of my father (Lee McBride ) and Tony K. This was towards the end of my fathers career. THANKS FOR THE MEMORIES !!!!
06/07/08 3Wide I was able to confirm with Tony K that this car was re-skinned with a Pinto body and was driven by Al Michalchuk on one occasions, and by Carmen Scarpati on a few occasions and then was involved in a wreck with he thought Bruce Thompson who used to run a #14T before driving URC.
06/10/08 Tom McDonough Lee rolled this car in the heat race at Flemington one night and the car stayed on it's roof until Lee climbed out. The track crew rolled the car back on it's wheels and towed it to the pits.  The car only had one
broken bolt in the I think front suspension, it was replaced and Lee went back out and qualified in the concy.

Looking at the damage on the car in this picture I'm thinking it was the night this picture was taken.  [1977 was the year this picture was taken.]

I know this car with a Pinto body on it was around at the end of the 1978 season because Curve Miller hooked up with Rick Holden then. Rick took the car out at Windsor at the end of the 78 season to see what parts were still useable for a new Tobias frame sportsman that Rick drove the 79 season. It was a white Pinto #11 with blue lettering.

This car was painted white at the beginning of the season.[1977] there was a nice picture of it  around back then.  I'm pretty sure Ace Lane took it.

...if cars could tell, the stories this one could tell...

12.30.12 3Wide I agree Rich.  I'll take a shot at it here, but here's who I think might have driven this one at one time or another:
Stan Ploski (#24 modified around '73)
Ken Brenn Jr. (#24Jr modified around '74)
Jimmy Maguire (#37 sportsman '75?)
Lee McBride (#11 sportsman '76)
Carmen Scarpati and Al Michalchuk (red #11 Pinto body)
?

You have all the drivers right in this car except Jimmy Maguire.  That was a different old Brenn car.

01.16.13 3-Wide Thanks for the info Tom - I have to ask if you were directly involved with the car and if so, at what point?  I know that there was one Olsen Coupe, and 2 Trevis Coupes.  Are you pretty sure that this car was purchased as a yellow #24 and then painted either cream color or red (as seen above) and renumbered to #11?

Tom McDonough

I was 18 in 1977 and I was helping Tony K on this car.  As I said be for this car was owned by a friend of Lee McBride and Tony K named Curve Miller who bought the car from the Brenn's in the winter of 77.  It was one of the Trevis cars.  It was yellow when they bought it.  It was first painted white with number 11 on it when it came out for the beginning of the 77 season.

We were having bad luck with the car which was no fault of Tony or Lee so about half way through the 77 season the car was repainted red to try and change our luck.  I'm sure this is this car e05.10.08_024_BRE_EWS_0070_1 The next year 78 the car was red with a Pinto body on it but Lee did not drive it.  You have a picture of it with Carmen Scarpati holding the checkered flag at East Windsor.

01.22.13 3-Wide Thanks for the info Tom...  Here's what I think:

1.  The yellow #24 Olsen car was originally a Bud Olsen car, that Stan Ploski (and Will Cagle) drove at in Sept/Oct of 1971.  That car became Kenny Brenn's rookie can for 1972, and then became Billy Mitchell's rookie car for 1973.  (Not sure what happened to it after that...)

2.  Ken Brenn Sr. had 2 Trevis built cars for Stan to run in the 1972 and part of the '73 season.  One of them is pictured above and to follow your story, that means that the Brenn's held onto that car for 5 seasons....  I am sure at some point this car was probably by Ken Brenn Jr as a modified in the 1974 season....  Not sure if it was also driven in 1975 or not as he started running the Grant King Gremlin sometime in 1975 I think....

3.  One of the Ken Brenn Sr. owned Trevis built cars was also driven by Stan as a modified in 1972 and possibly in 1973, but at some point I think was sold directly from Ken Brenn Sr. to Jimmy Maguire who left it yellow, but renumbered it as the #37.  I found out this weekend (from John Chemidlin) that car might have been for sale after Jimmy was done with it, but I am not sure who bought it from Jimmy Maguire.

4.  At some point, one of the cars above (either the original Olsen built #24, or one of the 2 Trevis built cars ended up with Bruno Cranston and was driven as a yellow #1 at Bridgeport.

So the questions that remain are:

1.  What happened to the Olsen built coupe (that was Stan's Mod at the end of '71, Kenny's rookie car in '72, and Billy Mitchell's rookie car in '73?

2.  What happened to the Trevis coupe pictured above once it was "used up" as a red #11?  I know the body was replaced with a red Pinto, but was the old coupe body scraped?  Also, once it was done running as a red #11 Pinto, was it scraped or was it sold off to resurface again with a different color/# and possibly a different body?  I see in the notes above the Rick Holden might of used it for parts, but my question is was the frame used, or was just some of the parts scavenged so that a new car could be built and the remains of the Trevis Chassis scraped?

3.  What happened to the other Trevis built coupe that was run by Stan, and then possibly by Kenny, but eventually ended up being renumbered as the #37 and driven by Jimmy Maguire?  (Note:  If someone knows for sure what year Jimmy drove the #37 at Flemington, it'd shed a little light on this mystery....)

Thanks for your interest guys...
01.23.13  Tom McDonough

After the 77 season the coupe body was scrapped.  After the 78 season some parts of this car were scavenged and the rest of the Trevis car was scrapped.
