This photo of from Ned Stites reminds me the excitement that would
fill the air when Bill Singer would call out "Here come the Modifieds..." as
they rolled out onto the speedway... Can you hear them now, one by one... coming out in low gear....boooahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh, (as they drove by where you were sitting..., then a little blip of the throttle - beeert ), next gear... boooahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh.... then they'd lay into it just enough to shake the backend out a little on their way through turn's 1 and 2... baaaahhhhhhhhh Ever wish you could just sit there one more time and watch... and listen to what it was to be at Flemington Fair Speedway back in the 70's? |
