I'm sure that this photo is from East Windsor.... but where on the
track? The image was taken through a chain link fence and my initial
thought was that it is between turns 3 & 4 but I'm pretty sure it had to
have been taken from the spectator side, deep down into turn #1, as the cars
head into turn 2, with the big burm on the outside of the track. I think the trees in the background
look closer than they really are and are actually the trees on the far side of the parking lot that were on the
right of the road to the pits. Neat shot of the #47H Pinto of Blaine Sadler on the inside and the #292 Gremlin of Al Michalchuk on the outside, working through the corner, with the backend of the cars shifting out toward the wall instead of leaning over on the right side. Nothing beats the sound of a big ornery big block grunting it's way through the corner of a clay surface speedway, where the surface has just enough give to let the back want to beat the front through the corner! .... Over 20 years have passed guys.. Seems like it was just a couple of weeks ago to me. |
