Comments: Comment from John: Start of the All Star 100 at the 1 1/8 mile track. It was truly an "All Star" race. As they come down for the green, in just the first three rows we have Bob Malzahn, Elton Hildreth, Charlie Jarzombek, Gerald Chamberlain, Ron Narducci and Richie Evans. Race was won by Bill Wilson with Bobby Bottcher finishing second and Frank Schnieder third

08/03/07 Edward Smith I attended this race and many of the Nazareth 1 1/8 mile track events. The
All Star races always featured many of the top pavement drivers (Evans, Troyer, Jarzombek sometimes Lee Osborne) along with the best on dirt. I remember the drivers drawing for starting positions prior to the feature event in front of the packed grandstand.

It was great to see the drivers out of their cars and hear the response from the fans. I remember Rags Carter getting a not so warm welcome and he handled it like a true professional. I remember Lou Lazarro always brought his dog with him to the track... I was only 16 years old in 1970 but it seems like yesterday.

Thanks again for your web site. It brings back many great memories.
09/20/07 Lou Lazzaro Jr. Great pic looks like Lou Lazzaro 7th row inside.  How can I get a copy and do you have any other pics on this day. Thanks Lou Jr
10/03/07 Stan Walulik I wonder if you know the exact date of this photo. If it was 09/28/1969, my wife & I took my Dad out for the day to see some dirt tracking. We were a little disappointed at first that the day was at the big track, but there was some FINE racing that particular day. Fred DeGroot was the first alternate that day in the long blue Falcon. I remember this day & race vividly because it was the last day I saw my father alive. He ran a Frontenac overhead valve conversion model T powered sprint car with Joe Verbley out of Middlesex Boro during the late 1930's. Dirt is the only racing.

Any pics of Fred Gearhart's X cars sponsored by Bush Dairy Farms?
03.13.11 mark tresch my father and i attended the very first race there on that opening night, the stands were packed by race time, we always sat up top, that"s another track i miss so much, mike grbac was my favorite there, he would fly past two or three cars lap after lap down that long straight toward the fourth turn, all the racing was great there , open wheel racing as well, glad to be there to see all of it. thanks, great site .
