Comments: Still not sure what body style this is, but there's no doubt that it's Mike Grbac behind the wheel.  Mike always drove with such a unique, comfortable look behind the wheel of a racecar.  I see that the car has Acella Chrysler/Plymouth sponsor ship.  Not sure if somebody else brought this up before, but maybe it's a "Sappora!"

03/04/07 Matt Bahre I believe that this is a "Walt Shwinning" built car. Shwinning cars came out of Albany N.Y. These cars were losely based on the original Leto # 50 Rossell car that Tommy Correllis drove in the early seventy's. The body is a Vega with that distinctive N.Y chop that I never really liked. Other Shwinning cars that ran well everywhere and come to mind were those driven by Kenny Coon & Mert "socks" Hulbert.
03/04/07 John Larsen If you look on page 1 of the 1970's vault the 4th picture on the top row, Eastern States 200 picture, you can see the Vega bodied cars of Bill Brooking (#43), Carl "Fuzzy" Van Horn (#71e), and Kenny Coon (#302).

The #121 is also a Vega body car but was listed as a Plymouth Sapporo because Acella was a Chrysler-Plymouth dealership. This is the Walt Schwinning design chassis that Les Alberti also manufactured. Alberti campaigned the #473 at Lebanon Valley and other tracks. This car was later painted the more recognized Scamardella white and gold to match the Plymouth Arrow bodied Paul Rochelle built team car that was also driven by Mike. Both of these cars so a good deal of track time in 1977 and 1978!!!
