I always love the backround of these pics. The stands are filled top to
bottom from one side to the other. Brings back memory's of having to call the speedway
(201-782-2413 "forever etched in my mind") early Monday morning to get a seat in
the grandstand for a regular show the following Saturday night. |

Larry was one of the first modified drivers to convert over to carburator
fom injectors at Flemington. This is a Burnett car, he had a bunch of cars running at
Flemington during this period. Note how visable the driver is in this car! I sure do miss
this era, it was great. |

This car is a Burnett frame. Howie Cronce built the car after becoming
friendly with Larry Bowers. Larry had asked Howie to drive his sedan to help to straighten
out it's handling and they formed a friendship. If you look at the Who is it section you
will see the car with a temporary body on it and with Howard shaking it down for Larry.
The Mustang body was built and painted by Ted Bachardy of Ted's Auto Body in Flemington.
Compare it to the 9c and the DD among others and you will see the similarity. Another
sister car is the #1f of Larry Friedman. |
