Comments: | One of my favorite cars, Mike McNamara in his unique looking #8X. Still not sure what body style it was supposed to be, but I do remember that it was fast, and was in position to win a modified feature on more than occasion, but failed to finish. This car was silver with a black roof, and some pretty cool graphics for its time. |

04/23/08 | Gary R | I think this is one of the cars I helped with. Mike (Wolfman
Mac), John Sr and Jr, George, and me, Gary R, (Bugsie) a name Mike put on
me. Anyway, I think Mike was trying to make it look like an early Chevy II.
All the sheet metal on this car was 20 gauge aluminum. He also made
everything he could himself, with John, Johnny, George and me helping I think they made Mike change the roof as the first one was all aluminum and all silver, they wanted steel. Mike also was the first to run the luggage rack on a Gremlin body, Ken Brenn was still running the coupes and Johnny Jr and I talked Mike into it. It fell halfway off opening day at Nazareth, so we had to remove it that day until we added locking nuts when we got home. |
