Comments: Here's Stan Ploski in the Ken Brenn Sr owned #24 Gremlin with Gerald Chamberlain in the Joe Bullock owned #76 coupe. We're pretty sure that this photo was from the 1973 season and if I had to guess, it was probably toward the later part of the season. After 2 very successful years with Ken Brenn Sr., (end of '71 to near the end of '73) Stan would leave the #24 team and would finish the year off (1973) by winning the Flemington 200 behind the wheel of the Pete Chesson owned Pinto #76.

The following season (1974) would prove to be a terrible year for Stan, (flipping the Norcia #81 Mustang down the backstretch at Flemington, winning but also flipping the Emmett Alfrey #47 at Flemington, and then ending the season with a hard crash into the 1st turn fence at Flemington after having the throttle stick on the Jim Horton owned #43 Gremlin....)

Gerald would go on to have tremendous success in 1974 driving the Joe Bullock #74 Pinto and Falcon to his first track championship at Flemington.

01/04/06 Bob Becker Joe, I found a photo of the Gremlin in my collection shot in the East Windsor pits with Stan Ploski's name dated 1973. If I remember correctly, this car was built by Bob Rossell, featured inboard Koni shocks with cantilevers, and a chrome roof rack.
01/06/06 Brian Loutrel Bob Rossell did build this car and it was raced through 1979. It was originally run at the Trenton asphalt modified race in 1973 by Stan Ploski. Ploski drove the car at Flemington and won several heat races with it in 1973 but no features. Ken Brenn took over the car in 1974 and won his first modified feature (a 50 lapper) at East Windsor in June 1975. Jim Brenn won his rookie championship in this car in 1979.
01/08/06 Bill Hanna Yes it is definitely 1973, as it was Geralds' first year as a regular at Flemington in the Bullock @ 76 coupe, which dominated at Reading, but Gerry just could not get the feel of the square in this car. In 1974 Gerald brought out the Pinto bodied # 76 and finally got his first win, and a little later in 1974, they debuted the famous "Falcon" and his dominance at Flemington started.
12/03/06 JOE B THE CAR THAT GERRY IS DRIVING HERE IS A SECOND COUPE THAT THEY HAD AS A BACKUP CAR FOR READING. I'M NOT SURE IF THIS WAS THE NIGHT BUT GERRY WAS LEADING THE FEATURE AND STAN CAUGHT WITH 15 LAPS TO GO. THE FUNNY THING ABOUT IT WAS AFTER STAN PASSED GERRY, YOU WOULD THINK STAN WOULD DRIVE AWAY, RIGHT ? GERRY STAYED WITH STAN TILL THE END. THEY SAID GERRY WAS LOOKING FOR THE FAST WAY AROUND AND WHO BETTER TO SHOW HIM BUT STAN PLOSKI. IT WAS A GREAT RACE WITH TWO OF THE BEST DRIVERS TO EVER STRAP IN TO A RACE CAR
