Comments: | Ray Neary in the Fred Menschner silver and red #21 on the
big track at Nazareth. Ray tell's a great story about how on this day he was flying
down the backstretch (and on the big track what a backstretch it was...) As he's
motoring along, he hears this rumbling coming up on his outside.... as it get's
louder and louder he turns his head slightly to catch a glimpse of who in the hell was
going even faster than him... Now before I tell you the rest of the story, some of
you may remember that Ray used to wear one of those bubble shields that snapped onto the
front of the 3/4 helmets that were pretty popular back in the very early 70s... Well Ray found out real fast that when you're doing 100+ on the backstretch of Nazareth, that bubble acted like a parachute and ripped off leaving him surprised and with a face full of Nazareth clay.... all with turn 3 quickly approaching... That rumbling that Ray heard? Some guy named Schnieder in a little red #2! |
