07/24/04 | Bob Hoffman. | This car had square tubing for the roll cage. When we built this car I
argued with Carl Yetman Sonnys dad about the safety of square tubing. Carl said
it was as strong as round tubing. While running in a feature race at East
Windsor Sonny was involved in a wreck that put the car up ln the air. The car came
down on the center of the roof right on top of the fence causing the roll cage to
collapse. Sonny had a deep cut on his neck and his helmet was cracked. If he had
leand the other way he would have been killed. Thankfully Sonny survied. Last I heard of Sonny was living out west. |
