Comment: This was the show.... Stan in the Brenn #24 and
Billy O in the Norcia #81... Week after week... Feature after
feature... It always seemed that when it came down to the closing laps
of the modified feature in 1973, these were the two at the front. What a great time to be a fan at Flemington Speedway, and what a great original photo, provided to The Vault by Hank Winecker. It has to be a top 5 photo for any fan of the early 70's at Flemington! |

Great shot of 2 great drivers in 2 iconic modifieds. At racing speed, was a hot rod ever heading straight at Flemington. Doubtful. |

I know the record books will show different but I will always believe that these two got around Flemington better then any other driver that ever ran there. When I look at this picture of course the two great drivers come to mind but I tend to look at things from a car owners view. What we see here is two cars owned by two iconic car owners the era that they raced in. I think the 60’s and 70’s where very rich with great car owners and as I said this picture reminds me of two of them. |
