Comments: Comment:  There was always something unique about Howie's #9c's....  The first car I remember was around 1972 or so and it was a wide bodied yellow Falcon, that I think became the wide bodied black and silver Falcon.  The car was very open and you could really see Howie in there working the wheel.  I remember Howie in that car in the 1974 season, and maybe even a little beyond.

At some point though, Howie showed up with the really cool looking smaller bodied Burnett racers... always black, always #9c.  The one above was black and silver and was followed by the black and gold racers.

Howie would also drive the white #1A owned by Benny Sheer, the Rio Bros #R10 and more, but I always think of the number "9c" when I think of Howie.  I also remember how Bill Singer would mention him during the line up as being from "just down the street..."

Always super cool cars... Always fast.... and always a favorite!

I would agree Howie’s cars were always nice and always fast. I do remember this Mustang bodied car having the exhaust pipes coming out the back right above the rear bumper. Now that was pretty cool.
