Comments: | Comment: Comment from Charles Hertica: Here's one of my Instamatic photos from Middletown, Circa 1974. Although not as sharp as a professional would provide, it's not too bad.... Obviously that's Buzzie with his back to us, but I don't know who that other driver is....possibly the driver du jour of what I think is the Charlie Sanders #4 in front of the #00 ?? |

07.25.14 | 3Wide | Great pic. I've got a black and white one from Paul Irving that is very similar... I'll have to see if I can find it and see if maybe it was taken at the same time. |

This picture is so typical of Buzzie Reutimann. Always ready to help anyone who asked. I’ll tell a quick story. When my father decided to build a Modified to drive himself in 1968 he went to Middletown to have a look at (copy) some of the top dogs. One night after the feature he decided to take a close look at Will Cagle’s coupe. As my father tells the story Will was very unfriendly to a new unknown guy that needed advise badly. He walked a few cars away to the 00 and talked to Buzzie. He was complete opposite of Cagle. He took the time to talk to him and even handed him a creeper and a flashlight to look at and TAKE PICTURES of his front axle. I remember seeing those pictures. First class explains Buzzie Reutimann. |
