Yes the 42 is a former Bill Hence 421 driven by Laudan Potts . This was the car my dad won with the first night they brought it out it wasn't even painted yet it was a brown primer. The following year Bill Hence made a new car and sold this car to Bill Beasley and his dad. There was one night during the season my drove this car for the Beasley's and finished second with it my dad really liked this car and always said Bill sold the wrong car to the Beasley's .

Lester, if I remember, that was in a Friday in 72 when I was playing football so I missed it.  Didn’t you dad follow up that win with a bad crash the next week when he was cut off?

01.07.19 Bill Hello,

My dad, Bill Ritting, Jr. was on the Bill Hence 421 pit crew. I am very sure that he was in Laudan’s Victory Lane photograph at Reading with the primered 421.
Dad passed away in 2011, but I’d like to get a copy of that shot and reach out to Lester.
My dad was so proud of that win.

(It’s a little fuzzy right now, but I believe I was in the grandstand. The story was told so many times that it is now as vivid as reality.)

Thank you,

Bill
