Comment: Open wheel driver Jimmy Maguire purchased a former
yellow #24 from the Ken Brenn stable and renumbered it as the #37 that you
see above. I am told that this is the original Olsen Coupe that
started it all (with wins by Stan Ploski in 1971, that then became the #24
that Ken Brenn Jr ran in the rookie division in 1972. But here's where
I get confused.... I'm been told that once Kenny was done with the Olsen coupe, it was then sold to Billy Mitchell who repainted it orange and renumbered it as the #42, with which he then went on to win the 1973 rookie title... So.. there's the confusion.... If this is the Olsen car, then what was the Mitchell car? I may be totally off on this, but I'm wondering if the Mitchell car was actually a Trevis car (there were at least 2 of those too!) with possibly the original Olsen body on it... If that is the case, maybe this is really the Olsen car, with maybe one of the Trevis bodies on it! |
