Comments: Comment:  There's a story here that if I can ever get Carl Thomas to come on the board, we'll get it accurately, but for now you'll have to get my version as best as I can remember.  Seems Carl's father "Bobby Thomas" made an offer on Buzzie's coupe as at the end of the season.  He figured Buzzie didn't want to trailer it all the way back down to Florida and that it was a good time to try to buy the car.  Bobby bought the car and I'm think he might have even driven it once or twice and decided his strength was working on racecars and not driving them, so eventually he turned the driving chores over to Jim Hoffman.  (Like I said, that's pretty much what I remember, but hopefully we'll get the specifics...)

It's a great story that I wish Bobby was here to tell.  No, Bobby never drove. He made the deal with Buzzie after the races at EWS.  Buzzie knew how bad Bobby wanted that car because he could see all the cash in his pockets. The deal was made for $3500 and now the question Buzzie had, "who's gonna drive it?' and Bobby's response, much to Buzzie's surprise "You".  They went to the Eastern States 200 a couple weeks later and led til two to go before getting a flat and finishing second.  The following season Jim Hoffman drove the car for Bobby at EWS and other dirt tracks.
