Comments: Comment:  Smokin' Joe Hall in this little Mustange bodied sportsman.  Joe was a top line sportsman driver for a few years in the mid 70's at both Flemington and East Windsor.  I heard that engine guru Fred Menschner sometimes had a hand with what was going on under the hood of the #06...

09.04.13 Fred Menschner Talk about having some fun and good racing; just be around Joe Hall for a little while. Myself and Ray Neary helped Joe out during the 1974 and some of the 1975 sportsmen racing season. Ray handled the suspension while I built the engines. The engines were .030 over 327cui small block Chevy. I was able to buy Chevy stock steel cranks and pink rods from Ray Liss for all of Joe’s engines. Did use Crane Fireball steel heads and many different camshafts. Joe was tough on equipment, but it paid off in winning quite a few races. 1974 we took home the State and Flemington sportsmen point titles, losing the East Windsor title by a few points to Les Katona. There was one weekend in 1974 where Joe won all three sportsmen features.
