Comments: Comment:  Some guys are good fabricators and some are good racers.  Bob Fisher is one of the few that had in both roles.  A win is a win, but I'll bet like most fabricators, my guess is that Bob's highest level of accomplishment was to win behind the wheel of one of his own creations...

Speaking of his talents as a racecar fabricator, just ask anyone who has ever driven one of Bob's cars or who has had Bob do some chassis work for them and you'll see just how respected Bob is in the Motorsports community.

My personal memory of Bob goes back to when he first started racing Sportsman around 1976 or so and was always one of the first to arrive at East Windsor Speedway.  Being too young to drive at the time, I would often catch a ride with a fellow named George Curtis from Staten Island who always insisted on getting to the track super early so that he could put his blankets down on the top row.  That was just fine with me because it gave me a chance to go over to the outside of the pit entrance to check out the cars that were arriving.  One day, I think Bob, George and I were the only ones there!  I thought Bob's Vega was really cool and when I asked him about his choice in # and he said it was the # of the squadron his father was in during the war.

I remember this car being silver and I'm pretty sure that at some point it was painted black, but I'm not sure which came first.
