Comments: One of my all time favorite cars... The Hemi Cuda II driven by Jean Guy Chartrand at Langhorne Speedway.  As you can see, it was a rough day for the #Sixty Nine...

This before & after shot is from qualifying at Langhorne in 1971. The first lap Jean Guy put the car solidly in the field and the second lap…well you see the result. Jean Guy was the most fearless stand on the gas driver I ever saw and if the first lap was fast Chartrand always wanted to go faster the second lap.

Fortunately for the Ed Cloce Hemi Cuda team, the race was rained out and rescheduled for the next weekend. They came back ready to race with a new front clip and loaded for bear.

No cookie cutter cars back then. Very unique cool car.
