Comments: | Received these photos of what I think is a Junie Donlavey owned car that was often driven by Sonny Hutchens.... I remember seeing a Donlavey #90 at Trenton or Langhorne back in the early 70's, and then I remember Jody Ridley and others driving in the big time.... I'm not sure of the details of this particular car, or who was driving it on this day, so I'll let you guys fill in the details below. |

12.13.11 | Geoff Yoder | I believe this car was purchased from Donlavey and was driven at Middletown by Jerry Morgan and one other driver at least. I spoke with the other driver last year at a DAARA event and he discussed his time behind the wheel of the car but I forget his name. Jerry Morgan drove the car one night at Middletown but the motor blew. Jerry indicated that for a primarily asphalt car the car handled very well. Jerry does not remember seeing the car again after that initial ride. |

02.01.12 | Jim Fagan #90 | Hi Guys, I have a correction for you to make and a little history to pass on. If anyone has a copy of DIRT TRACKIN MAGAZINE, 1986 Vol. 4, No. 1, (featuring Orange County & Accord Speedways, & the #6 of Fritz Epright, 1985 Tri-Track Champion on the cover) and if you turn to the last page titled "Turning Back The Clock" on the top left Photo is the #90. The Caption lists the driver as Jim Fagan. Well, I am Jim Fagan. How do I know this is my car ?? We had sponsorship from Joe Barzda of California Speed & Sport Shop, New Brunswick, N. J. displayed over the doors and Tiger Tom Pistone Racecars and Parts of Charlotte, N.C. displayed on trunk deck, which are prominently seen in your Photos. The car was purchased from Junie Donlavey by Frank Donovan, Red Slaughter and myself and I drove the car at Orange County, Nazareth, East Windsor, and Bridgeport Speedways in the early 1970's. Jerry Morgan, Bob Dini, Mike Grbac, and another driver who's name escapes my memory, also drove the car helping us with their experience in adjusting the set up. In the end the car was sold and the engine was sold to Bob Dini, who I might add, won the feature at Orange County, first time out. If you would like photos or other information, I can be contacted at buzzy1140@verizon.net Jim Fagan #90 |
02.01.12 | 3-Wide | Thanks for the first hand info Jim - Any idea what happened to the car - Was it still run as a #90 after you sold it, or did it get repainted and renumbered? Also, did you find anything "trick" in the car that maybe hadn't been figured out by the locals (northerners') yet? |
