10.04.10 3Wide Could this be the last year for a Deasey Coupe?  I was fortunate to see Gerald Chamberlain and Stan Ploski run the "Big Donkey".  Sometime around '73 or '74 the coupe was replaced with a Pinto.  (Here's a link to a page with the Pinto and a comment from Paul Deasey Jr.:  https://3widespicturevault.com/70spics&vitals/11.29.02_707_DEA_UNK_0070_1.htm
10.06.10 Glenn Grafton Two Ford powered modifieds. Looks like the 707 has a Boss 429 Nascar motor and the 76 probably has a FE series big block [427?]
10.10.10 Brian C. Loutrel This was one of the April 1972 races at Reading. Sammy Beavers is in the Deasey 707 and Gerald Chamberlain is in the background. Stan Ploski was driving the Brenn #24 Trevis car which he won the Flemington modified championship with.
10.30.10 Bill Katinowsky If you look behind the Bullock 76, you will also see Bob Rossell in the orange & black 56.

I just talked to Jerry Chamberlain last night at the Reading Fairgrounds Racing Reunion.  He said that when he drive the 707 it had a 427 SOHC in it.  I never knew that.  In this picture, the 707 has a Boss 429 in it, I can tell by the valve covers.  This picture would be from about 1971 or 1972 because that is definitely Jerry driving the Joe Bullock 76.  The 76 had the gold stripe on the side during the 2nd or 3rd year that he drove the car.  I told him that I heard there were drivers that were afraid to drive Paul Deasey's cars because they were so powerful.  He said that he really had to be easy on the gas with the car because it made so much power.  He said he was told before he drove the car not to put it flat to the floor or it would just spin out.  It was great to talk to Jerry, a true legend of dirt track drivers.

Definitely March 1972.  Most likely opening day.

Yes this looks like the last Big donkey coupe. Shot gun motor means this is at least 1972. Paul built a few Pinto’s from 73-76 and then went back to early falcon bodies.
