Comments: Looking for some help from you guys on the driver of this early 70's Sportman sedan.  (I do know that it is Gary Kolenz in the background, but not sure who's in the #60)

12/29/02 John Mc ...not sure who the driver of the #60 is, but the guy with the afro (with his back to the camera), is named Benny Oliver.   He helped my dad (that's one of his old t-shirts he's got on), Bucky Barker when he raced sprints, Grant King (yeah, THE Grant King), etc.... He also was in a photo that appeared in I believe Open Wheel magazine standing next to Bucky comparing the difference in their sizes while working on a car. I know it probably doesn't mean much to most, but I thought it was funny to see him standing there
12/30/02 3-Wide I gotta tell you guys, I have as much fun looking at the stuff in the background on some of these pictures as I do the star of the photo!  We should probably run a contest on who can name the guys in the background on some of these shots.   I was all psyched because on one of the Billy O shots (with the hat), you can spot the old Michalchuk #292 sportsman coupe -  thanks for the info
12/31/02 John Mc I'm not sure, but wasn't this one of the Suydams? Clarence, maybe? I thought at 1st it may have been Wyatt Jacobus, but I don't think so. Just a guess.
01/02/03 John Mc I ran into Oldtimer and he said he thought it may be George Drake and I think he may be right! Any other suggestions?
01/02/03 3-Wide John - You guys are right!  Dave Spurlin found an earlier picture of a #60 coupe (see pg 7 of the 70's) and he identified it as George Drake and thinks that the sedan may have replace the coupe.  Thanks for the detective work...
03/01/03 ricky rutt The #60 sedan in the picture vault is "Barry" Suydam, Clyde's son. The car was owned by John Drake of Phillipsburg, and driven in the late seventies as a coupe at Nazareth by his younger brother George. A side note, the coach "body" was off the Herb Stecker sportsman driven at Nazareth by Larry Honey. the car was white w/ a Harley/Davidson numer One on the door.
