I remember it too... Being a Michalchuk fan, this
had the potential to be one of Al's finest moments as he was running in the top 3 late in
the Modified Feature in his home grown 4 year old #292. He was right up there with
Ploski, Chamberlain and maybe Osmun or Beavers and I'd never seen him run so hard which is
saying something for Al. It was so exciting to watch him up against the biggest
names of the day, battling it out with the best of the best. Not sure if it was a
lack of concentration, trying to hard or tires going away (Al often had to run tires that
had been discarded by others which often worked ok for the first few laps....), but Al
ended this great drive at East WIndsor between 3 & 4. |
