Provider's comments: | The Black Horse Racing team had many great drivers including Don Stives, Sammy Beavers, Stan Ploski, Paul Fitzcharles, etc, but the years with Billy Osmun at the controls were among some of the greatest to me. |

12/08/02 | Andy | Osmun was very fast in this car. But so was Sammy Beavers! |
1219/02 | Dave | The duels with Ploski were the greatest! I believe this was probably the best year ever for the #81Dave |
12/19/02 | 3-Wide | Just got another great picture of Billy O standing next to the #81 courtesy of Dave Pierce that I will be adding shortly. |
12/14/03 | Fred Voorhees | One of my all-time favorite modifieds without a doubt! As pretty as the car was, it was even faster on the track. |
04/28/05 | Harry | Wow, I can't believe this awesome website. I was such a
Billy O fan in the 70s. That is when my dad started taking me to Flemington. I was
probably six or seven years old when Billy won a hundred lapper in this car at Flemington.
That was the days when you got to greet the driver on the track if you decided to go in
the pits after the races. When Billy took the car into the pits he let me ride along with
him. I just remember how incredibly load the motor was, especially to a little kid.
To date this would be the only time I rode in a dirt car, but even that brief experience
kept me going to that track pretty much every race until they paved the place. One of my neighbors is Bill Humprey, who used to race in the 70s as well. He is a close friend of Billy O, and believe me, it sounds to me like the guy still likes to raise hell. |
04/28/05 | 3-Wide | I think Bill Humprey might have driven a #123? |
10.24.09 | Harry | Yes, Humprey shoed the 123. He has the side panel in his garage. He tore up the car flipping through turn 3 of Flemington, I think that was the end of him competing. He still helps out in the pits at New Egypt. |
