Provider's comments: Joe Hall would always come by on the first lap of warm ups with a clenched fist salute to the crowd and many responded with the clenched power fist back! It was just another natural part of a night at Flemington. He was a big winner in the Sportsman division and was probably a victim of the 3 win rule which forced him to race Modified where he never reached quite the same level of success, but he was exciting and a main character at the square. After retiring, Joe became an official with Flemington Speedway.

12/30/02 Doug I like how you keep the white borders around these old Polaroid pics... Dunno why, but it jus' somehow makes 'em look all the more "alive"... Great work!...
01/14/03 Bill Hanna I can still remember in my youth, when the track at Flemington was all WET & GOOEY for warm-ups, thanks to Frank Scheier and George Snyder in the lime green (for the Flemington Fair) water trucks when the Sportsman would come out for warm-ups from the handicappers stand on the front stretch and Joe would come out with his clenched fist and Ray Liss would come out in that Gremlin and spray MUD ALL OVER US THOUGH WE WERE IN THE TOP ROW of the FIRST TURN BLEACHERS just next to the Grandstand for years. I then got to Joe personally when I became an official at Flemington and enjoyed working for him at both Flemington and Bridgeport. Great Memories. Bill Hanna - Easton PA
02/08/03 Dave Walter Does anyone remember when Joe ran the Wild Child 06 in the Hobby Division at Grandview Speedway? Late 60's  Dave Walter - Salford PA
04/23/03 Wayne Pfeil To dave Walter - I ran at G'view from 1965 to mid 1978.  I do remember Joe, but we were never friends, but then we were not enemies either. I ran a 53 ford sedan in 65 no. v8 & then a 47 ply coupe no.7 in 66 & 67.   Really glad to hear from someone who remembers G'view back in those days.
06/01/03 Brian Loutrel This looks like the car that Joe ran in 1972. He switched to a Pinto body in 1973 and 1974 and a 1967 Mustang body on the car for 1975. Who could forget Joe's trade mark raised fist salute?
12/01/05 SARACINO RACING TEAM If I am not misstaken the body on this car is a 1963 corvair Spider body. My Father {TONY SARACINO } an I helped build this car an had a lot of fun that year doing it.  That's when racing was real fun !!!
