01/14/03 | Bill Hanna | I'm not sure what year this is, but it was an opener when Gerald was the king of Reading, and Stan was the "King of Jersey". This was BEFORE Gerald came to Flemington as a regular and I believe this car was part of his record 39 wins in 1 year at Reading owned by the legendary car owner Joe Bullock of Warrington, PA and wrenched by Gus Frear. 06/01/03 | Brian Loutrel | This looks like a photo of the great battle between Stan and Gerald at the 1970 East Windsor opener. The number on the Bullock #76 was the pattern raced in 1970 and 1971. Ploski won the race by inches. |
08/01/04 | Alan Sakowsky | I was a very lucky 8 year old kid in the EWS stands that day in 1970 with my Father. I still wish I had my 1970 Area Auto Racing News Photo Spectacular with a better picture of Ploski's car nosing out Chamberlain at the finish line. This picture was taken between the 4'th turn and finish line I believe . The stands behind were of the smaller green section I think. From what I remember Chamberlain didn't race too much after that at EWS that season. I was disappointed . Note the engine of the 707. I remember people going to the pits and just glancing at Deasey's work of art awe struck. |

What's really neat here is this may be the only photo with (2) big block fords! |
02/04/06 | 3-Wide | You Ford guys don't miss much! Good catch.... |
02/05/06 | Matt Bahre | We (Bahre Racing) actually raced the
Chamberlin coupe in 73 that we bought from Cagle who bought it from Bullock early that
spring. In 74, we raced the Bullock car (Pelczer driving) and a new Cagle-ized copy of
that car that was driven by Butch Jelly. In 75 we raced a new Tobias car with Ed Delmolino and had Ernie Marshall in that Cagle copy car. Sold the Bullock car to a local guy. After seeing Kenny Weld dominate Syracuse in 1975 (only to have the motor quit) and then seeing the same car dominate the Eastern States 200 (only to have it break again), my father approached Weld and made the deal to buy a car! (For
those interested in Weld car history, all this means that the original #29 Weld car nick
named "Woodstock" first appeared in early 1975.) However, there is a
picture of Weld at Reading that is dated 1973 which doesn't make sense to me! |
