11/30/02 Doug Any idea who was driving the Statewide Car in the background?
11/30/02 3 Wide I think it was Lee Taylor, or Larry Taylor, or Billy Osmun...Hopefully someone else that was involved with the team back then could be more specific...
12/24/03 Dave Billy Osmun drove that #3. Dave
03/22/03 Todd L Too young to really recall Howie in this ride but I do remember him driving for Benny Scheer in the A&B Garage 1a. The last I had heard Howie was in NC working for ARCA hotshoe and former dirt racer Andy Belmont but that has been about 4 years ago. I wonder if Howie is still in NC
12/14/03 Fred Voorhees Any questions as to why they called him "Howie The Hat"?
04/09/04 Bucky Stevens This picture is about 1975.  Howie built this car from scratch with some close friends.  He operated out of his dad's house and on a very slim budget.  The car has headers with collectors, a real racing strearing set-up which is how I date it.  Those parts were purchased with winnings.
06/29/05 lugnut Howie also used to drive a Pontiac Gran Prix that had Mr. Dirt on the side windows.Last i heard from him, in mid 90's he was living in Florida.
