Comments: Although this picture is not quite as clear as we would like, this car made my top 10 All Time List (as provided to Scott Pacich).  In a time when many guys painted their numbers on by hand, this car absolutely stood out with it's bright blue paint, gold roof and shiny wheels.  The number 31 was painted bright white with a red shadow and the roof had that slight bubble look where the front roof posts come out a little to the sides.  I don't think I ever saw this car at East Windsor, so when I saw the beautiful #31, I knew I was at Flemington!

8/18/03 Brian Cloutrel This is one of my favorite early 1970's modifieds.  It was a beautifully prepared race car.  Chip ran this car in 1972.   Does anyone have a picture for the website of Chip's #31 as it appeared in 1971?   It was green and white.
08/28/03 Mark Yaple This car ended up being the first CL22 of Lew Slocum and was driven by Tommy McConnell in the sportsman division at Flemington and East Windsor.
10/05/06 Steve Kresge I remember a green and white siting upside down at the Naz. 1/2 mile in the second turn.   I was young - I don't recall all the details.   I was wondering if this was Chip's car before the blue and gold car in the picture?
