08/14/03 | Mark Burd | It looks to me like the car in the background is Butch Tittle. Mark Burd |
10./04/03 | Bucky Stevens | Joe built this car after he was seriously injured by pieces of a blown engine/ transmission. He painted the car green since he had such poor luck in other colors. A real gentleman in the pits. |
03/17/07 | Rich Reinhart | After looking at this photo, I`m 99.9% sure the car to the right of Joe`s and Butch`s is my Dad Leo Reinhart`s 777 driven then by Don Lawson. |
05/04/07 | LAustin9 | I'm so sorry it took me so long to find this site. It has brought back so many recollections. I had the pleasure of working with Joe P back in the late 70's and early 80's. We were driving trucks for the same company out of Manville NJ at the time. He was hurt at Middletown , if I am not mistaken? I worked on my 18 wheeler at the family farm in the garage that GREEN STUFF was stored. Thank you all for so many Great stories. My friends and I ran sportsman at Flemington for a short time. STAN THE MAN RULES. |
06.05.13 | Joe Jr | I need to thank those who have put together this site, I am Joe Jr. and have been researching the history of dirt track driving to put together a gift for my dad, Joe Sr. Funny story, the spelling of our last name is Polacek, it was spelled wrong (as it usually is) on the car as well! So much for luck. Thank you again for posting all of these fantastic pictures! I'll be sure to check back frequently! |
12.04.13 | Dusty | Hi Joe Jr. sure is a great thing. Your
dad and were friends way back in the 70's, we raced tighter at Harmony,
Nazareth and I think Flemington. I lived in Phillipsburg, N.J. we visited
each other at our homes. I have been trying to find your Dad for years
now. I hope this makes the connection after all these years. You never
forget good persons, ever! I was there the first year of the Green Machine. Orange #2 - Dusty Mike & Maddy |

Remember this coupe well, it was an early mulligan chassis with trailer bars and leaf springs when first built. I did all the body work, Joe's Dad was really proud of the body, it was a 36 Cadillac 3 window coup and his Dad had all the original side trim which they painted white. I prepped car and helped Charlie Epright with the paint job. |
