I was also partial to the Orange crate but this car got the job done for him many times at Bridgeport and I believe this is the car he won the Freedom 76 with. |

| 07/22/04 | Al Rabassa | A legendary driver and race car. It was back
around 1979, I was only 20 at the time. The place was Bridgeport Raceway in NJ.
It was a wild night on the track - all night. The feature race was no
exception. Eddie Mumford in the Z8 was leading the feature when something happened. Eddie was placed at the rear of the pack! The race was restarted, and one by one he started to pass the cars in the pack! With 1/2 the pack behind him, there wasn't one person sitting in their seats! You could not hear the cars because of the noise in the stands. Eddie won the feature race as the stands were about to collapse. That was 25 years ago... | 10.08.10 | Kevin Eckert | Yes, Eddie Mumford did win the first sportsman race ever at Reading in 1976 (over 100 cars flooded the pits) by beating Billy Pauch, who won the following week. Z8 was one skinny fast car. |
