04/11/03 Bill Hanna Oh man, gotta love that bubble shield on his helmet, I can still see that Red Handkercheif tied around his mouth and nose when he wore this helmet. This is also the car that Gerald raced that first full season at Flemington in 1973, when he spun more than he cares to remember. But that all changed in 1974 aboard the Pinto and he became dominant when they debuted the "Falcon". I love this shot just entering turn 1 at Reading as you can see the end of the covered grandstand and I can still smell the French Fries and Fish Sandwiches for 50 cents that were available at the concession stand located just behind the bleachers here. Like they say MEMORIES NEVER DIE !!!!!!!!! Bill Hanna Easton PA
04/11/03 Steve Absolutely one of my favorites, this picture is from 1971 or 1972 when Gerry won a whole bunch of features. This car was not very high tech it just went very fast!  Was also one of the few Ford powered cars at Reading.
04/11/03 3-Wide Hey Steve, I spent a little extra time trying to clean the picture up a little.  I hope you like it.
10/09/03 fCobrajet This guy could drive. Just think if he had a TEO car with a Kevin enders FORD back then . MY first time I went to Reading was 1976 Gerald WON . It early April he passed Kenny Brightbill and Billy Osmun coming off the 4 turn to win #90. Buy the way they were both driving Statewide Highway Weld built cars #3 was red #19 was white.
12/17/03 Mike Feltenberger I have the exact same photo and the photo credit I have is Terry Shaub.  Terry was a fireman at the Reading Fairgrounds and he was a great photographer in his own right.  I actually was given Gerald's last bubble shield.  His wife Joanne gave it to me after the night was over and he finally got his full face helmet,  I believe as an Xmas present.  It is presently in my little mini-museum of Gerald I have in my living room.  I used to visit Everett every year before the season started.  Really miss those days.

Also, This photo was not at Reading,  It was at Orange County and was taken before the Eastern States 200.

10.08.10 Kevin Eckert I'm guessing this is the '71 Eastern States 200 because this is not these are not the graphics that graced so many victory lanes in '72. Joe Bullock & Gus Frear went Pinto in '73 and Falcon by '74 and each year after.
