04/30/03 Chester Jones If I recall this car was the back up ride for the Ferraiuolo team and was made by "Haraka" said to be a clone of the Grant King Cars
12/12/03 Bob Scott This is an original Grant King built car.  (Notice the King decal on the cowl).  Ken Brenn Sr, after his past midget/sprint/indy racing talked to King in Indiana to build him a new Modified. King said that he wouldn't build just 1 so being friendly with the Ferraiuolo's, he got them to build 2 cars for each. If you remember Brenn also had a Trevis Craft coupe modified and later a Stanton built car. Both builders were sprint/midget/indy car builders in the'70s
03/10/04 Chester Jones Not Always True..... The Ferraiuolo Bros. were famous for false advertising.  If you look closer on the rear quarter panel it says "Haraka".  In addition, the hood logo says "J&J Bolander engines, but in reality "Sirrico" motors of Ledgewood was building them.
06/13/04 Anthony Ferraiuolo IV As always Scott is right on the money. This is the fourth car to come out of
King's shop.  Two were Brenn's and two were ours.  Harraka brothers owned the speed shop that we bought parts from but never a car.  The motor's when this picture was taken in 1978 were J&J (John Bolander and
Jimmy Shaw).  Frankie and John Sirrico were good friends of ours and we did use their engine's for some shows in 1974.  False advertising?
06/13/04 3-Wide Thanks for the clarification.  I'm not sure about the "False Advertising" deal, but sounds like this car is the real deal, and one thing is for sure, the #73 wasn't ever just there... it was there to win.

Saw Anthony Ferraiuolo (Sr?) at the Flemington Racecar Reunion show on June 12th 2004.  Had planned on talking with him more about his cars and drivers but it wasn't meant to be.  I enjoyed the conversation started when Bill Singer asked him and Sammy Beavers about the time Sammy ran the car at Syracuse.  I think it went something like Sammy didn't drive it fast enough... and Sammy came back with once we changed a few carbs, it was fast enough, but he didn't want to show everything it had until it was time.  I think he ended up qualifying second or something like that.   Everyone seemed to enjoy the moment and you would have thought they were talking about a race from a week or two ago...
