| 01/23/03 | Spilly | This car was owned by Gill Bruss. Jim actually won a modified feature in1970 at Fonda in this car. In the 1950's, before leaving NY to seek fame and fortune in USAC, Jim, and his brother Pete, were frequent competitors at Merrittville and other tracks in Upstate NY and Canada. I believe he also drove this car at Trenton. Jim's life story is truly fascinating, and is told in the book "Hurtubise", by Bob Gates. It was an excellent read. |
| 03/11/03 | Mark Southcott | Jim Hurtubise in the Gil Bruss #0. Jim drove for Gil at the Langhorne National Open (Race of Champions) from 1969-1971. He finished 9th in 1969 and 5th in 1970. Jim loved racing Langhorne and passed away in 1989.... |
