Comments: One of the big winners in the Sportsman Division at East Windsor in the late 60's, it looks like Dick got his money's worth out of this #78!  No danger of winning best of show with this one, but hey... who cares?  This dirt track stuff isn't for the trailer queens anyhow!  By the looks of the checker flag and the grin on Dick's face, the old #78 was just gettin' broken in!

01/01/07 Bill Hanna Does anyone out there remember when Dick Taylor drove his car into the box seats at Flemington (not this car). It was in the early 70's, I believe.  (See NOTE BELOW)
04/28/07 3-Wide There's a picture in the Ace Lane Sr. book of the Studebaker "under" the grandstand at Flemington.
04/28/07 Walter Onora Looks like Tex Enright in the background, by the starter's stand!!
04/28/07 barry pursell Looks like Tex Enright doing the flag duties.  Check out the headband.
08.11.09 Rich Taylor Jr. Dick never drove that Studebaker into the box seats at Flemington. I'm Rich Taylor, his first son, and I can tell you that Jim Ruprect, the proud new owner of that race car put in into the box seats. It was his first time in a race car and he bought that car from my dad (for $1100.00) earlier that week. I was about thirteen and I was watching from the box seats.
