Comments: Really interesting photo....  There are 7 or 8 racecars in the photo.  1 ambulance that is really a sign of the times, and over 30 people!  I can't help but wonder where did they all come from?  2 of them appear to be firemen and then you have 2 or 3 with the ambulance, but what about all the others?

Check out the huge crowd on hand in a place that has been providing family enjoyment for over 50 years at a place with a tremendous amount of natural atmosphere.  One of the best designed speedways that I've ever been to.  Still gives you a rush everytime you walk in from the parking lot and see the track for the first time of the evening.

12/12/05 Barry Hulse Well, how many drivers can you name? I wish my dad were still around. He probably could name a bunch!

I know the 310 is Pete LaVance, and it looks like Pete standing by the driver's door with his right arm touching the 3. Also, I know that the 77 coupe of Pop Kremer is the light colored car sideways on the track with the Kremer's Auto Service sponsoring. I know my dad had told me, I believe, that a driver named Rich Hall ran for Pop.
12/02/06 Sam Estlow The car in front of the 310 is Dave Hulse in the 44.  When I was 14 years old I used to go to Dave's house in Pt. Pleasant to help with the car, Sam Estlow, former starter at Wall Stadium.
12/02/06 3Wide Thanks for the additional info Sam.  I can use all the help I can with these the asphalt stuff...  I don't buy many photos, but when I saw this one at a recent racing reunion event, I had to have it.

When I first saw this photo I wondered if Wall could ever again pull a crowd as pictured here.  Well, if anyone was at the 2006 Turkey Derby, the answer is yes!
12/07/06 Barry Hulse Hey Sam!

Good to see you post. Hope all is well with you.

This guy Joe that runs this website spent too much time breathing in all that dust at Flemington in the 60's & 70's and he's clueless about all the great racing that went on at all the tracks where you didn't come home at the end of the night looking like Pig Pen from Peanuts!

Barry Hulse!
12/07/06 3Wide Hey Barry... who's to say I didn't go to the races already looking like Pig Pen!

Hey... dirt or asphalt, at least I could spot a great photo when I saw it, and truth be told, I still get a rush every time I visit Wall and walk up from behind the stands and see the speedway down below for the first time.

Glad to see promoter Jim Morton involved and hope he can take the track where it needs to go to keep those Ramsey, NJ developers away from Wall Township.
09.08.09 George Call Jr. The black and white car on track is 41 George Call Sr. and we have more pics of 41 from 1958 to 1974.  He is 76 years old and living in Anderson, SC and is helping his sons with there race cars.
