Comments: Comment:  Bob Troutman in the pits at East Windsor Speedway.  I'm told that Bob was from the Morrisville PA area and was one of the early Piscopo #39 drivers.  The car has the look of a Tom Backes lettered racer (same artist that lettered the Piscopo #39, the Menschner #21, and others from the small PA town.

That's Pee Wee Griffin with the sunglasses on looking back toward the camera.

3Wide-  I believe I mentioned this before in another post but I have to repeat it.  I've been attending the Fallsington (Pa) Methodist Church for about 25 years.  Years ago, I'm sitting in church talking to Tommy before service about the rich history of modified-sportsman hot rods in the area, never knowing that he lettered a ton of 'em.  I mentioned that, although I wasn't a Tasnady fan (at first) I always thought the Piscopo 39 was one of the sharpest, cleanest looking race cars I had ever seen.  His reply, "I lettered the 39".  I then went on to mention the race cars that I knew from "this part of Bucks County and Trenton" to which he replied," Yep, lettered them too (the Schloeder 46, the Taylor 93, the Carberry 47, the Menscher 21, and others).  I felt like I was in the presence of a "god", well in the dirt track worlds anyway.  He acted like it was no big deal.

He said he enjoyed lettering, be a commercial vehicle or a race car.  To me, he was an artist.  His lettering added beauty and class to every race car he lettered.  I think a lot of the hot rods today are "over the top" with their graphics.  Tommy's abilities are a lost art.  He was a kind, nice human being.

Bob was a man of many talents, car salesman, race car owner, builder and driver. Also Bob started American Industrial Forklift Company , that serviced and sold forklifts all over the Delaware Valley.

Bob was an accomplished driver of modified (#2,21,39 ect.) race cars. Bob and Ray Neary were very good friends and Ray and myself took over Bob’s garage on Fulton Street in Trenton, NJ, where we built many silver 21’s,  when he was done with racing.

Bob was one of the few who used a Ford 289 V8 in his sedan bodied race car around 1966/67/68. Bob was the first driver of the Piscopo #39 race car.

Bob was a gentlemen racer along with his long time friend Ray Magill would help any racer in need. Bob’s forklift company employed both Ray Magill and Red Walker. Red, from Morrisville, the owner, builder and driver of car #29.
