12/05/02 Ed Duncan Tommie Elliott drove this car in 1961
03/22/03 Mark Southcott This is Tommie Elliott who was the 1962 Wall Modified champion in #4
05/08/03 Jim Murrow If memory serves me correctly, this is the car that was stolen from the diner on the circle in Vineland, after the race at Vineland Speedway. The car was later found in the woods someplace, stripped of all the "Goodies.
08/28/03 Kevin Ed... I've heard a story bout 1960? at Oldbridge, when Tommie Elliott flipped the Purple 4 up into the power lines and no-one wanted to pull him out with all the sparking wires. Any info?
08/30/03 Ed Duncan In 1964 Tommy Elliott, driving the Matty McMahon 4,hit the 1st turn fence an flipped into the woods taking the power line for the lights with him.The car was destroyed and Elliott was only slightly injured.
10/16/03 Terry Kelleher I recall this incarnation of McMann's Purple 4 well.   Take a look under the hood.  See the engine?  Matty had that Ford (He had not yet switched to Chevrolet power) sitting so low and so far back the car stuck like a kids slot car.
02/20/07 George Pavlisko The night Tommy went out of the park in turn 1 at Old bridge, my dad and I came down from the 1st turn stands to the car. The track crew could not get there faster and my dad was worried about the car catching fire from the lights. As we all know, no fire and Tommy was fine. His Throttle stuck going into 1.

Hey guys -  Need your help here. What was the actual color of Tommie Elliotts number 4? Some photos it appears to be pink, although the comments above say purple. What can you "liken" the color to? Wine color, light lavendar? Making a model of this car and would like to be exact in its color. After all, it looks like a pretty cool car.

Thanks - Frank Giordano
