Comments: I don't think that I ever got to see Warren drive, but I'm thinking that with that great big left front, he probably didn't have any trouble getting the Legal Beagle to turn!

07/07/03 Mark Burd I don't know but I think the old boys shirt says Grandview Speedway so maybe that is the location
12/27/03 David Walter I'm sure this picture is from Grandview.   In 1968 this car was unbeatable at Grandview and he also won a Championship 100 lapper at East Windsor in which he never received his winning money.  He later destroyed this car at Grandview .
12/27/03 3-Wide What was the reason for not receiving the money and is that first hand info or urban myth?   I've heard a lot of stories about Don Jones... (even may have started a few of them myself) but honestly have never heard of anyone chasing money that they were deserving of at East Windsor....
01/01/04 David Walter Yes, the information came from Marvin Dengler (7B) himself, him and I worked together several years and shared many conversations about racing in the good old days.  He was a very close friend of Pappy Mutter.    Marvin and Pappy were racing buddies and when Pappy's car would break, Marvin would give his ride to Pappy.   Marvin is now deceased due to cancer which was a great loss to the racing community.   If you need any further information regarding Warren 'Pappy' Mutter, also known as 'The Legal Beagle', please let me know, as I was a big fan of his.
10/04/07 Richard Rohrback Be advises that long before the "Legal beagel" was doing his thing in the 336, he was driving the flathead 3D at Grandview speedway. The best show was when they put a "bounty" out on the 3D. Mutter took the hit like a gentleman and shook the hand of Chris Skias and ask if he was alright. Before that Mutter tooled around in the 555 at Reading Race track, Hatfield, and Sanatoga. When it came to flathead engines, Pappy was one of the best.

Warren, or as most knew him as “Pappy” used to deviate from the dirt and showed up at Pleasantville Speedway quite a few times, and a very determined hard charging racer he was!
